Message Summary

Updated December 17, 2021: We have updated the rollout timeline below. Thank you for your patience.

Microsoft Teams will now optionally support isolated audio streams when using Network Device Interface (NDI) or Hardware-Out from Teams Meetings.

NOTE: If you are not using NCI hardware you can safely disregard this message.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 86757.

When this will happen:

We expect the rollout to begin in late January and expect the rollout to be completed by mid-February.

How this will affect your organization:

This change will only effect users with the “Local broadcasting” meeting policy enabled. They will be able to optionally choose to output audio as isolated audio instead of the full meeting audio.

What you need to do to prepare:

This update will happen automatically and be added to the “Local broadcasting” settings in the Teams client for users with the meeting policy enabled. No additional action required.
