Message Summary

Updated August 12, 2022: We have updated the content below for clarity. Thank you for your patience.

We are upgrading the underlying infrastructure for Outlook Actionable Messages (AM) to make them more performant and resilient.

Note: If your organization is not using Outlook Actionable Messages you can safely disregard this message.

When this will happen:

This upgrade will begin rolling out in early August and will be completely rolled out by late August.

How this affects your organization:

This feature is available on all currently supported builds as specified here Update history for Microsoft 365 Apps (listed by date) – Office release notes | Microsoft Docs.

What you can do to prepare:

We recommend the following course of action for Outlook Desktop users:

  • If you are an Outlook user using an older version of Outlook Desktop client, please update your Microsoft 365 version to continue benefitting from the rich and powerful AM email experiences.
  • If you are an organization’s administrator, please update the Microsoft 365 version in your tenant to enhance the productivity of your employees via AM, helping them accomplish tasks from within Outlook.

The AM experiences in other Outlook clients remain unaltered and Microsoft 365 users can continue to benefit from AM like before. For additional information on this upgrade please reach out to onboardoam@microsoft.com.
