Message Summary
Updated June 1, 2023: We have updated the rollout timeline below. Thank you for your patience.
Microsoft Teams admins will soon be able to search for and identify monetized Teams apps are eligible to contribute towards an organization’s Microsoft Azure consumption commitment (MACC) as well as view remaining unspent MACC for their organization.
As part of this feature, the “Manage apps” tab of the Teams admin center (TAC) will include a new category in the “Browse by” filter and add new visuals in the app cards. These changes provide parity with the Azure Portal in terms of ability to search and identify Teams apps with transactable SaaS offers that are eligible to contribute towards an organization’s Azure consumption commitment.
In addition to above, a new widget in the Teams admin center (TAC) will be added to help admins quickly view unspent Microsoft Azure consumption commitment (MACC) that they can apply when making purchase of Teams apps that they discover are Azure benefit eligible above. It will only be available to organizations that have an existing MACC agreement with Microsoft and only to those admins who have appropriate rights to view the MACC balance.

When this will happen:
Standard Release: We will begin rolling out in mid-June (previously late May) and expect to complete rollout by late June (previously mid-June).
We discovered issues that could impact certain geographies and are actively fixing before final release.
How this will affect your organization:
These features are for information purposes only and do not allow an admin to modify their organization’s MACC. They serve only to provide additional information to help admins assess which Teams app purchases could apply towards their existing MACC, if eligible, without those admins needing to leave Teams and log into Azure Marketplace.
What you need to do to prepare:
No action is required. For additional information on the “Mange apps” view in Teams admin center (TAC), please visit this TAC documentation. For additional information on MACC and Azure benefit eligibility, please visit this Azure consumption benefit documentation.
