Message Summary

Viva Goals unveils enhanced status control for OKRs and projects. Previously, when setting up an OKR or project, customers had limited control over the status, as it was solely dependent on progress. However, with the latest update, users now have the ability to compute the status independently, giving them greater control and flexibility.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 124935

When this will happen:

General availability: We will begin rolling out in late June and complete rolling out in late July.

How this will affect your organization:

Users will be able to set the status independent of progress while creating an OKR or if the OKR is already set to either roll up from a key result or from a data source then the user will have the ability to switch the status mode to manual while making a check-in.

In case of backdated check-in, the user can choose to change the date of check-in based on which the progress and status can be updated manually for the selected date.

What you need to do to prepare:

While creating an OKR, the default behavior will continue to remain the same and the user has the ability to change the modes while editing the KR.
