Message Summary

The Modern Translator feature in Microsoft M365 Apps is making changes that may require users and tenant administrators to take steps to ensure continuity of service. We strongly recommend you ensure your installed versions of any of the below release channels or products, Win32 and Mac (Current Channel, Monthly Enterprise Channel, Semi-Annual Channel, Perpetual Channels, Windows Teams Desktop, Teams Android, Teams iOS, OneNote for Windows 10, or Office Store Translator for Outlook) are updated to minimum versions as detailed here: Modern Translator in Microsoft 365.

Note: This change does not impact Outlook on the Web and Word for the Web.

When this will happen:

We will begin rolling out the changes late January 2024 and expect to complete by late February 2024.

How this will affect your organization:

Once this change has rolled out, translation requests in Microsoft 365 apps may start failing if not updated to the minimum versions.

What you need to do to prepare:

To prepare, ensure that you have updated to minimum product versions cited here: Modern Translator in Microsoft 365.
