Technical Bulletin MC709263 · Published Jan 23, 2024

Message Summary

We will be transitioning translation support in the Research pane to leverage Microsoft Translator.

When this will happen:

We will begin rolling this change in early March 2024 and expect to complete by mid-March 2024

How this will affect your organization:

Users will see “The service did not respond” when performing translations using the Microsoft Office Online Services translator in the Research pane.

Users will no longer be able to perform translations in the Research pane using the Microsoft Office Online Services translator when this change is implemented.

What you need to do to prepare:

Instead of using Microsoft Office Online Services for translation purposes in the Research pane, we recommend using either Microsoft Translator in the Research pane, or the new modern translation pane (Translate text into a different language).
