Message Summary

Today we announced Semantic Index for Copilot – a new capability in Microsoft 365 E3 and E5. A core part of the Copilot System, the Semantic Index is a map of your individual and company data. It is a foundational capability for Microsoft 365 Copilot, and will enhance enterprise search results for Microsoft 365 E3 and E5 – whether customers are using Copilot or not. Semantic Index for Copilot will start rolling out later this calendar year for Microsoft 365 E3 and E5 customers.

How this will affect your organization:

There is no impact to your organization at this time. We will provide advanced notice about the timing as well as additional information on admin controls and settings that can be used to manage this new capability.

What you need to do to prepare:

There is nothing you need to do at this time. As soon as the additional roll out dates are ready to be announced, we will inform you through the Message Center in the Microsoft 365 admin center. You can also follow these features on Microsoft 365 public roadmap website.
