Message Summary

Microsoft renamed Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) to Microsoft Entra ID for the following reasons:

  1. To communicate the multicloud and multiplatform functionality of the products
  2. To alleviate confusion with Windows Server Active Directory
  3. To unify the Microsoft Entra product family

As a result, the name will be updated within Microsoft Secure Score.

When this will happen:
Standard Release: We will begin rolling out by mid-January 2024 and expect to complete by late January 2024.

There is no action needed to prepare for this change. You may want to notify your users about this change and update any relevant documentation as appropriate.
