Message Summary

We have recently pushed new updates to the Teams Live Event Attendee experience to support the new RTMP-In scenario for Teams. We have identified an issue that will cause us to change how we currently support Teams Live Event Attendees that join using guest access via the Web. Starting in May, we will no longer support guest users joining on the Web as a Teams Live Event Attendee.

When this will happen:

We will begin rolling out in mid-May and expect to complete rollout by late May.

How this will affect your organization:

Users that have Guest access to your tenant can no longer join as an attendee to a Teams Live Event on the Web. We recommend encouraging these users to join on Desktop or Mobile instead.

What you need to do to prepare:

We recommend advising your users with guest access to join via Desktop or Mobile if they plan to join as an attendee in a Teams Live Event.

Additional information on guess access in Teams can be found here.
