Technical Bulletin MC377798 · Published May 9, 2022

Message Summary

Message center posts will include monthly active users (based off the past 30 days) related to change announcements for Power BI, Microsoft Power Automate in Microsoft 365 and Power Apps in Microsoft 365. This experience was enabled for other Microsoft 365 services in January (MC315739). We are now expanding to additional services.

This will help change coordinators and IT admins make a decision on which change they should address first vs deprioritize, based on the potential number of end users who could be impacted by a change. For example, If the change is about a service which has -0- active users for your organization, you should be able to deprioritize the change.

When this will happen:

Targeted Release: will start rolling out in late-May and be complete by early June.

Standard Release: will start rolling out in early June and be complete by late June.

How this will affect your organization:

On the Message center detail panel, you will see a new field entitled:

  • ‘Service & monthly active users’
  • Microsoft Automatic Updates (MAU) in parentheses after service names

Note: You may see two types of experiences in the Message center detail panel based on whether the workload is supported or not.

Supported workloads:

  • Power Apps in Microsoft 365
  • Microsoft Power Automate in Microsoft 365
  • Power BI

What you need to do to prepare:

You might want to notify your users about this change and update your training and documentation as appropriate.
