Microsoft Purview is introducing a library of industry-specific sample files for the Exact Data Match (EDM) solution.

When this will happen:

Rollout is now underway and is expected to be complete by mid-March.

How this will affect your organization:

Our initial library will include samples to U.S. Healthcare, Financial and Insurance industries. We expect to cover additional industries and geolocations as this feature develops.

These sample files are intended to give compliance admins guidance in structuring a new EDM classifier to assist with onboarding. Following a “template” strategy–these sample files provide a great starting point for beginning your EDM journey or creating a new classifier for an alternative business sector.

What you need to do to prepare:

You can view this library by visiting the Microsoft Purview compliance portal, navigating to the Data Classification solution and visiting the EDM Classifiers tab.
