Message Summary

Soon, in addition to existing news notifications, user of Viva Connections will also receive notifications for boosted news on the organization’s news site. This will allow communicators to more directly reach end user with important company news and communications. 

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 174470

When this will happen:

Targeted Release: We will begin the rollout in late November 2023

Standard Release: Rollout will begin mid-December and complete by late December 2023.

How this will affect your organization:

End users will receive the notifications for boosted news. The conditions for notifications to be sent are:
1. News is posted to the organization’s news site.

2. The news has an explicit audience target specified.

All other notification behavior will be the same as existing news notifications in Viva Connections.

What you need to do to prepare:

The feature will roll out automatically and nothing additional needs to be done. Communicators within the org should take note of the notification conditions mentioned to better reach their end users.
