Technical Bulletin MC415922 · Published Aug 19, 2022

Message Summary

Viva Learning is introducing a separate toggle to allow Admins to better control the type of diagnostic data that is collected by Microsoft for Office client software running on the user’s device in your organization.

When this will happen:

We will begin rolling out in early September and expect to complete rollout by late September.

How this will affect your organization:

Admins can find a new Required Diagnostic Data (RDD) toggle along with pre-existing Optional Diagnostic data (ODD) toggle on the Microsoft admin center. These toggles are enabled by default to allow Microsoft to collect anonymized diagnostic data for performance and product improvements respectively.

What you need to do to prepare:

Review settings to ensure the appropriate experience for your organization. We recommend updating your training documentation as appropriate. For additional information, please visit this page.
