Message Summary

Updated July 25, 2022: We have updated the rollout timeline below. Thank you for your patience.

Coming soon to public preview, we’re extending Document Fingerprinting SITs in DLP policies to include support for additional workloads.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 93280.

When this will happen:

Rollout will begin in mid-August (previously late July) and is expected to be complete by mid-September (previously late August).

How this will affect your organization:

Document Fingerprinting in Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention (DLP) converts a standard form into a sensitive information type (SIT), which you can use in the rules of your DLP policies. This update extends support for Fingerprint-based SITs to additional workloads, including SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Endpoint and enables admins to adjust threshold while creating Fingerprint SITs.

What you need to do to prepare:

Access the Data Loss Prevention solution in the Microsoft Purview compliance portal.
