Updated November 16, 2022: We have updated the rollout timeline below. Thank you for your patience.

In October we announced at Microsoft Ignite that the Office app for web (office.com), Windows, IOS, and Android will be rebranded to become the Microsoft 365 app (MC446132). As a continuation of this, the service listings on Service health and Message center will also be rebranded. In the month of November, the service titled “Office for the web” will be retitled “Microsoft 365 apps for the web”.

When this will happen:

This will be rolled out to Service health and Message center by end of December (previously Thursday, November 17th, 2022).

How this will affect your organization:

Communications related to “Office for the web” will appear under “Microsoft 365 apps for the web”.  

What you need to do to prepare:

You might consider updating your administrator training and documentation as needed.
