Message Summary

The goals term customization feature allows organization admins to customize terminology used in Viva Goals. Now, program owners can run goal programs using nomenclature that best suits their organization. Terms such as OKRs, Objectives, Key Results and Initiatives can be customized in the admin settings.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 165684

When this will happen:

Standard Release: We will begin rolling out in early December 2023 and complete by mid-December 2023.

How this will affect your organization:

Organization admins will now have a new tab in the admin settings called “custom terminology.” This can be used to customize the terminology used in the Viva Goals organization.

What you need to do to prepare:

This change will not directly impact any end users, unless organization admins make any changes in the newly available tab. The ability to disable this feature for all organizations in the tenant is available in the tenant admin settings.
