Message Summary

We apologize for not communicating about this release in a timely manner and any inconvenience it may have caused. With this feature update, Yammer activity is included in activity-based automatic renewal of Microsoft 365 Groups. When a user has viewed a post within a Yammer community or within an interactive email in Outlook, the community will automatically renew group expiration.

How this will affect your organization:

If you have enabled Expiration Policies for Microsoft 365 Groups, you will see Microsoft 365 Groups automatically renew if the community has activity in Yammer that consists of users viewing Yammer posts.

What you need to do to prepare:

You might want to notify your users about this change and update your training and documentation as appropriate.
